Head Chef & Co-Owner
Daniel Melton
Grandson of founders Arthur and Vera, Daniel trained across France and London before returning home to lead the kitchen he grew up in.
Melton's opened its doors in 1962, when Arthur and Vera Melton converted a Victorian townhouse into a dining room for twelve tables. More than sixty years and three generations later, the same family still greets guests at the door.
Little has changed in spirit: honest, seasonal cooking, a warm room, and service that remembers your name. What has evolved is the kitchen's ambition — today Melton's holds a place among the region's most celebrated tables, without ever losing the welcome of a neighbourhood dining room.
